Pentingnya Motivasi dalam Meningkatkan Prestasi Belajar Mahasiswa Penerima Beasiswa KIP-Kuliah

This study examines the importance of motivation in enhancing the learning achievement of KIP-Kuliah scholarship recipients in the Public Administration Study Program at Nusa Cendana University in Kupang. The research employs a qualitative methodology, involving in-depth interviews with students and lecturers, to explore the factors influencing student motivation. The findings indicate that extrinsic factors, such as financial support from scholarships and the academic demands to maintain a high Grade Point Average (GPA), significantly influence student motivation. Students who are financially supported by scholarships feel a greater responsibility to excel academically, as their education is tied to the scholarship’s requirements. However, intrinsic motivation also plays a crucial role in academic achievement. Students who are aware of their educational responsibilities and are driven by personal goals, such as contributing to public services, tend to achieve better academic outcomes. The study highlights the need for a balance between external and internal motivations. It is essential to foster both extrinsic and intrinsic motivation in students to help them reach their full potential and actively engage in societal development through their academic pursuits.
