Rekomendasi Pengendalian Risiko K3 pada Area Produksi Sukaharja Indah Kusen Bandung dengan Metode Hirarc

Abstract

Occupational safety and health (OSH) is an important aspect that must be applied in every work activity to prevent accidents and occupational diseases. However, until now, many workers still rely solely on their own awareness to maintain safety, without the support of a structured OHS management system. This certainly poses a risk of work accidents that can have serious impacts, both physically and psychologically on the workforce. This study aims to identify hazards, assess risks, and provide risk control recommendations based on the Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Risk Control (HIRARC) method in the production process that is often done, namely making doors at Sukaharja Indah Kusen. The method used is descriptive with a qualitative approach, through field observations and direct interviews with the owner and chief worker. The results showed that there were 13 main work stages, with 32 potential hazards identified, where the highest risk level (High) of 15% came from exposure to fine dust, medium risk level (Medium) of 31% came from the use of sharp rotating machines, and low risk level (Low) of 54% came from chemical exposure to hands from putty, prolonged bending posture, and so on. Risk control is recommended using a hierarchical control approach, starting from technical engineering, administration, to the provision of personal protective equipment (PPE). The application of appropriate risk control is expected to reduce potential hazards and improve work safety in a small industrial environment such as Sukaharja Indah Kusen.
