Abstract

The aim of this community service program is to enhance teachers' skills and readiness in implementing the Teaching Factory approach in Vocational High Schools (SMK). In addition, the program is designed to transform teachers' mindsets and understanding of the Teaching Factory concept in order to strengthen Project-Based Learning (PjBL). The implementation method of this community service program uses an explanatory Participatory Action Research (PAR) framework consisting of three stages: problem identification, implementation, and evaluation. The participants involved include school leaders, program coordinators, and teachers from SMK Muhammadiyah Purwodadi, Purworejo Regency, with a total of 20 participants. The program was carried out in two stages: theoretical sessions and mentoring practice sessions. The results achieved showed that, during the theory delivery sessions, 80% of participants demonstrated a strong understanding of PjBL management using the new Teaching Factory model. In the mentoring stage, 97.5% of participants reported feeling confident in designing and implementing PjBL in accordance with Teaching Factory standards to prepare their study programs. Follow-up mentoring plans are highly necessary to assist teachers and school leaders in implementing the PjBL designs they developed during this community service program.
