Pelatihan untuk Orang Tua: Program Pelatihan Regulasi Emosi pada Anak Berkebutuhan Khusus

Children with special needs often experience difficulties in regulating emotions, including impulsivity, difficulty delaying responses, and inappropriate emotional reactions. These challenges are closely related to limitations in executive functioning and emotional development, which may affect their adaptive behavior and social interaction. However, many parents still have limited understanding and insufficient skills in guiding emotional development in children. This community-based intervention aimed to enhance parental capacity in training emotion regulation among children with special needs through a structured parent training program. A participatory approach was employed, including needs assessment through interviews, program design, and training implementation. The intervention focused on practical strategies for helping parents guide children in recognizing, managing, and expressing emotions adaptively. The results indicated improvements in parents’ conceptual understanding and practical skills, as well as more consistent and responsive parenting practices. These findings highlight the importance of parent-mediated interventions as an effective and sustainable strategy to support emotional development in children with special needs.
