Abstract

The tourism sector has a strategic contribution to economic, social and cultural development in society. Strengthening tourism literacy from an early age is an important part of shaping the character and local identity of the younger generation. However, the integration of tourism education into Early Childhood Education (PAUD) learning still faces obstacles, particularly in terms of teacher competence and the availability of learning tools based on local potential. This Community Service activity aims to improve the capacity of Yasmin University of Muhammadiyah Jember PAUD teachers in integrating tourism education into thematic learning based on the local wisdom of Jember Regency. The method used is Participatory Action Research (PAR) through the stages of needs identification, concept socialisation, learning tool development workshops, implementation assistance, and evaluation-reflection. The results of the activity showed an increase in teachers' understanding and skills in developing lesson plans with a local tourism theme, the development of contextual learning modules and media, and increased participation and enthusiasm of children in the learning process. This programme produced a replicable mentoring model that has the potential to be applied to other early childhood education institutions. Overall, this activity contributed to strengthening local wisdom-based learning and supported the implementation of the Community Service Strategic Plan of Muhammadiyah University of Jember.
