Abstract

In the Industrial Revolution 4.0 era, MSMEs are faced with significant challenges and opportunities through the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT). This study aims to analyze the extent to which ICT is used by MSMEs in Indonesia and how this utilization can improve business competitiveness. The method used is quantitative with a survey of 150 MSME actors in North Sumatra and Java as a representative sample. The variables studied include the use of social media, e-commerce platforms, information systems, and the use of other digital technologies; as well as competitiveness indicators such as market size, operational efficiency, product innovation, and turnover growth. The results show that the level of ICT utilization has a significant positive effect on MSME competitiveness. The main inhibiting factors are limited digital literacy, investment capital, and network infrastructure. The need for digital training, government policy support, and access to technology facilities so that MSMEs can compete in local and global markets.
