Abstract

Cooperatives that are based on family principles and economic democracy are one of the main pillars of the Indonesian economic system. The Merah Putih Cooperative aims to improve community welfare, especially at the village and sub-district levels, through the empowerment of the people’s economy. In general, there are three main economic systems, namely capitalism, socialism, and the Pancasila economic system. The Merah Putih Cooperative adopts elements of capitalism through the establishment of business units that emphasize efficiency, productivity, and profit generation. It also incorporates elements of socialism through the role of the government in guiding, supervising, and ensuring the welfare of communities within the same village area. In addition, the cooperative reflects the principles of the Pancasila economy, such as family values, mutual cooperation (gotong royong), deliberation, and social justice as its core foundation. The method used in this study is a qualitative approach with a literature study design, analyzing various books, journals, and regulations related to cooperatives and the national economic system. The research results show that the Merah Putih Cooperative essentially represents a typical Indonesian mixed economic system that integrates the economic values of Pancasila, socialism, and capitalism in a balanced and contextual manner for community development and welfare improvement.
