Abstract

Selasa Wagen is a cultural event held every 35 days in Yogyakarta, serving as a venue for cultural preservation and a platform for the economic activities of the local community. The objective of this study is to analyze the significance of activities during the Selasa Wagen event for MSME operators from the perspective of behavioral economics. This study focuses on economic activities and behavioral economics that impact increased economic opportunities for MSME operators during Selasa Wagen through various economic strategies tailored to the characteristics of each business. The method used is qualitative with a case study approach. Data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and document analysis of  MSME operators involved in Selasa Wagen in the Malioboro area and its surroundings. The findings of the study indicate that Selasa Wagen makes a significant contribution to the economic dynamics of  MSME operators during Selasa Wagen in the Malioboro area, Yogyakarta. The emotions and feelings experienced by MSME operators during Selasa Wagen generate new perspectives and concepts.
