Climate change issues and increasing environmental regulatory pressures have encouraged organizations to integrate sustainability into leadership practices and human resource management. This study aims to synthesize empirical evidence regarding the influence of green leadership and green human resource management (green HRM) on environmental performance through a systematic literature review (SLR) approach. The study applies the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) framework by searching articles in the Scopus database published between 2021 and 2026. Following the identification, screening, and eligibility assessment stages, 10 articles met the inclusion criteria and were analyzed thematically. The findings indicate that green leadership, particularly the green transformational leadership style, consistently has a positive impact on environmental performance, both directly and through mediating factors such as green innovation and green organizational culture. Green HRM also plays a significant role through environmentally oriented recruitment, training, performance appraisal, and compensation practices. These two variables complement each other, where green leadership establishes strategic vision and commitment, while green HRM translates this vision into organizational systems and employee behaviors. This study provides a conceptual framework and identifies research gaps for future studies, especially in developing countries and service sector contexts.
