Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and domestic private investment on economic growth in Indonesia. The study uses time series data published by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) covering the period 2007 to 2023. A quantitative approach is applied using a multiple linear regression model to examine the relationship between variables. The findings show that, partially, FDI has a positive but not statistically significant effect on economic growth. In contrast, domestic private investment has a positive and significant effect, indicating its stronger role in driving economic performance. Simultaneously, both FDI and domestic private investment significantly affect economic growth. The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.715 indicates that 71.5% of economic growth variation is explained by the model, while 28.5% is influenced by other variables outside the study. These findings highlight the need to strengthen domestic investment capacity while maintaining the attractiveness of foreign investment. Policy alignment between both investment sources is essential to support stable and sustainable economic growth in Indonesia.
