Abstract

Purpose of this study is to explain how the value of the Pancasila Student Profile through the Five Souls of Islamic Boarding Schools contributes to the formation of the character of students in Ma'had Daarul Qur'an Namo Rambe, as well as to find the factors that support and hinder the process of character formation. The Five Souls of Islamic Boarding School internalizes the values of Pancasila student profiles, which include faith, fear of God Almighty, noble character, global diversity, mutual cooperation, independence, critical thinking, and creativity. The Five Souls also consist of sincerity, simplicity, independence, Islamic ukhuwah, and freedom. In this study, a qualitative approach is used, and this type of research is descriptive. To collect data, observations, interviews, and documentation are used. This research involved leaders of Islamic boarding schools, musyrif, and students. Reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing are the steps required to perform data analysis. The data is validated by triangulation of sources and techniques. The results of the study show that the value of the Pancasila Student Profile through the Five Souls of Islamic Boarding School is internalized through learning activities, habituation, example, advice, and the application of discipline in daily life in Islamic boarding schools. This process can help build the character of a student who is religious, disciplined, responsible, independent, socially caring, and eager to collaborate. A good pesantren culture, examples of kiai and musyrif, discipline that is applied regularly, and assistance with facilities and infrastructure are some of the factors that help build the character of the students. Factors that hinder it include teachers who do not have the same understanding of how to carry out character development and some students who are not aware of the importance of complying with the rules. Therefore, the internalization of the values of the Pancasila Student Profile through the Five Souls of Islamic Boarding Schools is very important to form the character of students in accordance with the principles of Pancasila and Islamic teachings.
