Abstract

Drug abuse among young people poses a serious threat to the nation's future. To address this issue, a community service activity was conducted at SMP Negeri 1 Sewan, Sarmi Regency, with the aim of increasing students' understanding of the harmful effects of drug abuse. The method of implementing this community service activity for students of SMP Negeri 1 Sewan was in the form of outreach. The outreach not only serves as a means of conveying information, but also as a two-way strategy that allows for the exchange of ideas between program implementers and the community. This community service provided participants with insights and moral messages about the negative impacts of drug abuse. The main focus was to raise awareness among participants about the dangers of drug abuse, the legal consequences, and the health risks of such behavior. As a result, this activity succeeded in increasing the understanding, awareness, and positive attitudes of SMP Negeri 1 Sewan students regarding the dangers of drugs. Therefore, collaboration between formal and informal education is needed as a key factor in addressing the challenge of drug abuse among the younger generation.
