Abstract

This service aims to help rural communities build an understanding of the importance of personal data protection in the digital age and of the legal consequences of the dissemination of personal data that have affected local communities. This legal counseling activity began with coordination with the village government regarding the condition of the people in the village, during which it was found that the Dunggala village community experienced online fraud and fictitious online loans. The method used in this service is to provide legal counseling to help the public understand the protection of personal data in the digital era. Legal counseling aims to build public understanding and legal knowledge about the consequences of failing to maintain personal data in the digital era. In this legal counseling, the public is given simulation activities to illustrate events arising from the irresponsible use of personal data. Then, this legal counseling is expected to help the public be careful when using social media and sharing personal data in the digital era.
